LACO Flieger PRO

Introduction:

With the LACO Flieger Stuttgart Pro 862141 and LACO Flieger Karlsruhe Pro 862142, in 2021 Laco introduced their first online configurator for their PRO series, a process that offers thousands of combinations when designing your watch.

Case:

To start there are three case sizes to choose from: 37mm, 40mm, and 43mm, buyers can select to have their watch case on a brushed stainless steel or dark sand blasted finishes.

As it is expected the overall dimension of the watch slightly changes with the different choices of case diameters:

The lugs on this watch line are curved following a more modern case design philosophy, instead of the straight lugs used on all LACO watches on the original pilot watch line.

Like all "Original pilot watches" from LACO, The Pro left side of the case is engraved with the former army classification number, FL23883, where "FL" stands for flight number, "23" was the army code indicating this was "device for monitoring flight," and "883" was the number assigned by the German testing office of Aeronautics.

Dial & hands:

As is normal on all the watches from LACO’s Flieger collections, buyers can choose within the A dial Stuttgart Pro 862141 or B dial Karlsruhe Pro 862142, for those who prefer to focus on the utilitarian style of the watch the LACO brand named and the “Made in Germany” label can be removed.

Another option is to order the watch without or with a date window which is located at 3 o’clock, the date can be black with white numbers or white with black numbers.

The LACO Pro comes with thermal blued hands, filled with luminous Superluminova C3. Indices, minute markers and the second hand are also treated with SuperLuminova C3.

Glass:

Protecting the beautiful dial of the LACO pro we find a doble domed sapphire glass with antireflecting coating on the inside, or optional Anti reflecting coating on both sides.

Crown:

The onion style crewed down crown can be positioned to the right as with most watches or on the left. It is important to note the date window option is not available for watches with the crown on the left side. 

Caseback:

A distinctive feature on the LACO pro Flieger watches is the use of a screw down caseback instead of the press down caseback used in all the other Flieger watches from LACO, and thanks to the combination of the screw down crown and case back water resistance is now 200 mts.

The case back can have a Sapphire glass window display or it can be closed, in which case it can be engraved with a special message.

Movement:

For the movement, buyers can have either the automatic Sellita SW200 or the manual wind SW210 on their Elaboré or Top Grade version, as a final touch, buyers can opt for either a plain or decorated movement.

The cherry on the top is that when buyers elect to order the watch with the caseback display window and the automatic movement, the rotor can also be engraved with up to 10 characters.

Straps & bracelets:

LACO offers six different options of their hand made, calf leather straps: brown, black and vintage brown, all these can be had with rivets or without rivets. All the straps are nice and thick, but they are also flexible enough to mould to your wrist, which makes them extremely comfortable.

In addition to the calf leather strap these watches can also be ordered with a stainless steel bracelet.

Conclusion:

In conclusion there are very few watch brands that offer such high level of customization that allow us to build our dream Flieger watches, a process that will add a distinctive personal touch to a timepiece that could make it priceless in time, a truly family heirloom.
